Little Shell Beach, PINS

Steven has been wanting to take us out to Padre Island National Seashore.  It's not too far away, but in order to get to a secluded part, after you enter you have to drive another half an hour down the beach.  In order to get to this "Little Shell Beach," it's a 45 minute drive down the beach.  Thankfully the sand was packed and hard, so it was an easy drive (aside from the whining kids and mommy!).  The kids had a fabulous time hunting for shells, and it was a great way to end our Saturday!

See why it's called "Little Shell?"

The hunt begins!

Her first sand dollar!

More seashell fun!

King of the hill!

I love this one of Ellie

And this is my favorite of Thomas!  He was so happy to just play in the car!

And all the ones I edited on Instagram...

Padre Island National Seashore is apparently "the longest stretch of undeveloped barrier island in the world." There's 70 miles of beach you can drive on, and for long periods, see not a single soul.  It's one of Steven's favorite places to fish, and he's camped there on the beach a few times.  Maybe one day he'll convince me to camp out there.  But for now it's a fun weekend getaway!  We're loving living by the beach this summer!

That is the "beach" we usually hit when in town! We will be there in a few weeks, as a matter of fact, for Austin's youngest sister's wedding! Maybe we will run into you. ;)
