Answer Me This!

I'm excited that Kendra at Catholic All Year, one of my favorite blogs, is starting a weekly link-up, called "Answer Me This" with some questions to answer each week.  Maybe next week I'll even include a What I Wore Sunday picture, too.  Here are Kendra's questions...

1. What time do you prefer to go to Mass?
My ideal mass time is 11:00am.  It allows us to have a somewhat leisurely Sunday morning with a good breakfast before church.  That's the time of the Latin Novus Ordo Mass in Houston which we attend when we're visiting.  Here at home we attend the 10:00am, which can seem like a rush, especially if we want to sing in the choir or attend confession.  But on days like today, it does allow us to come home, eat lunch, and then drive out to the beach to attend a Sand Castle Festival!

2. Would you rather be too hot or too cold?
Can you guess after seeing these beach photos?  I've spent my entire life in Texas, so I'm used to the heat!

3. How many brothers and/or sisters do you have?
I have one younger brother, who is six years younger than me and lives with his wife and two daughters in San Diego where he is in the US Navy.  We saw them this past week for the first time in almost two years!  And I have lots of cute photos to share, like this one...

Aren't they cute? If only they sat in the correct thrones!

4. If you were faced with a boggart, what would it turn into?

Well, I had to look this one up.  I guess it turns into my greatest fear.  I'm quite afraid of heights now in adulthood, and I have dreams that I'm being sucked off a stairway or out a window, along with nightmares about my babies drowning.  So I guess it would be some kind of snake-like creature that sucks people out of windows or under the water.

5. Barbie: thumbs up or thumbs down?
I loved Barbies when I was a child.  I had a closet under the stairway where I would play for hours with them.  My girls played with them a little bit when they were younger, but they were my old ones and didn't make it long.  They much preferred baby dolls and Playmobil figures, and now they most often play with American Girl dolls.  And I'm not crazy about the attire or body shape of Barbies, so...two thumbs down.

I often find these kinds of photos on my camera...

6. If someone asked you to give them a random piece of advice, what would you say?
Hmmm, I'm not really an advice-giver.  My husband is the one who is good at that.  I think I'd say something like the quote of Mother Teresa's on my blog header, "Peace begins with a smile."

Hope you all have a happy Holy Week!  I'm going to try to smile throughout the days this week...when I wake up, when I'm most frustrated with the children, and when they want my attention and I am distracted.  It's a somber occasion in the Church, but a time where we can still focus on joyful days with our children leading up to the great feast of Easter!

Thanks for hosting the link-up, Kendra.

this post made me smile, and I often think of that Mother Teresa quote at the top of your blog (and the rainbow of colors) when I'm having a rough day. Peace really can begin with a smile, even when you do not feel like smiling. :)
