Thanks, ladies. She's doing really well, but can't get herself to the top to take a breath, so she just swims as long as she can hold her breath. Any advice (Clarissa, since you teach)???
Sophia is having the same trouble too!! She just swims and swims and swims. She just started putting her head up for air but isn't actually taking a breath!! LOL!
Her teacher said she'll figure it out. There's alot to think about with the arms, legs, head turning and breathing.
Depends how much trouble she is having... As an instructor I would hold her in front of me and move backwards with her legs not kicking and just have her practice blowing bubbles and breathing. I don't recommend having her hold her breath underwater, she should always blow everything out until she has none left. That way, she doesn't waste time blowing air out before breathing back in, make sense? Oh I miss teaching!!!! Blair, what is your email so we can get together some time?
Thanks, Clarissa! I'm pretty sure she's blowing out while swimming. I know they work on that. But I haven't seen her instructor hold her legs. We'll have to have you over to our pool to give some pointers ;) My email is blairandsteven at yahoo, yes let's plan to get together! I'm so excited you're in town!
My name is Blair. I have long hair. See below on the sidebar: my family's there. My goals: to love the Lord in prayer, to keep my house from being a scare, and to homeschool my kids and not despair. I'd like to tap dance like Fred Astaire. I love to have new skirts to wear. Trips to the beach should not be rare. This blog is where my life I share. Take care!
