I'm not sure how she figured that out, Lillian. She's been ripping out those "rrr"s the last few weeks though. I'm sure yours will pick it up being back in SA :)
Kristen, don't feel behind! I've really only sat down with her about once a week since we've moved and put together the little schoolroom. Today we just practiced her name and read some little books and started writing a story together. Then we were lying down reading that Spanish word book, and got the idea of posting it so her God-brother would see her speaking his language :) We just taped in the schoolroom for effect ;)
I love it! I have been doing Spanish flashcards with mine for a long while. They love it and take to it so quickly. That and sign language. I would give them 2 Spanish flashcards to learn and then give 2 more every time they'd memorized those. Works great! Did you study Spanish? Sounds like it. I have a minor.
I like the flashcard idea! We just got a great sign language DVD from the library from the "Signing Time" series, so hopefully she can work on that language too :) I did study a little Spanish in high school and college.
Hip hip hooray for Signing Time. We get ours at the library too and the kids adore them. They have picked up so much. Well worth the watch. They love the zoo train one.
My name is Blair. I have long hair. See below on the sidebar: my family's there. My goals: to love the Lord in prayer, to keep my house from being a scare, and to homeschool my kids and not despair. I'd like to tap dance like Fred Astaire. I love to have new skirts to wear. Trips to the beach should not be rare. This blog is where my life I share. Take care!

Great job Mary Clare!! Can you come teach mine? They don't have the "rrrr" yet!
That is wonderful! Oh dear, I feel so far behind, I haven't even begun real homeschooling yet!

How cute! I'm about to start working with my three year old on Spanish. Do you have a favorite program you'd recommend we use?
