Labor Day Weekend

I spent much of Saturday and Monday mornings in bed while Steven was at work, but we had some other fun activities the rest of the weekend!

It had been about 2 months since we'd been across town to visit Steven's family. We celebrated his birthday along with 4 other September birthdays!

The cousins had tons of fun together as always! They played a lot of "school,"

while most of the adults (besides the ones who were napping on the couch ;) hung out in the backyard. I love how this photo shows all the hanging flags that Steven's dad has for each family member. It's really a special tradition and I can't wait to pick out a special flag for the new baby! Steven's Aggie flag is on the right, with the blue spiral flags...MC has a fish, Ellie a flip flop, and SJ a frog :) Since I'm one of the "non-relatives" who isn't bound in blood to the B clan, I share a skull and crossbones flag with the other "outsiders!"

The horrible sounds of the B family singing Happy Birthday. I don't think I've ever heard a worse rendition, LOL!

We tried to get a good cousin shot, but the sun was shining in stripes across the kids. Oh well! Here are all 11 of the young cousins (now we'll make it a nice dozen), and there are 6 "old cousins" who are in their teens and 20s. It's fun that all the young 11 crowd live in town!

Today the girls wanted to have another special party for Daddy when he came home from work. They made him a hat, a visor, cards, and put candles in the rest of his German Chocolate cake from yesterday!

We spent the afternoon and evening at my parents' house where the kids planned some more party games like Pin the Tail on the Donkey, while we spent lots of time watching TV and grilling a nice steak dinner. I was too busy laying on the couch to get any photos, aside from this one:

A beautiful full rainbow in the sky when we left NeNe and PaPa's tonight! It was nice to finally get out and spend time with family this weekend; I doubt we'll be able to do much of that again until after Baby arrives!

Happy Labor Day Birthday to Steven! Thanks for all the "laboring" you do for our family; we hope it's a year of blessings and peace for you.

I love the flag tradition. That is very cool, even the skull & cross bones for the "outlaws" as we like to refer to them. :) Happy (belated) birthday to your husband.
