In June, some college girlfriends started a discussion about going to the ordination of our former pastor, the now-Bishop David Konderla. Somehow in the midst of discussing the ordination we started brainstorming about taking a trip together in August. One of the moms lives in Austin and found a VRBO rental home a block from Lake Austin, and we booked it!
Four of the moms went on our Italian pilgrimage together a few months after our 2001 weddings, and the other attendees were some friends who'd attended the Edel Gathering the past couple years and really desired some time with other Catholic women. We had the house from Thursday through Sunday, and pretty much spent our days talking, laughing, and eating! It was neat to reminisce about our college days, share some of the struggles and joys of our married life, and dream about the future.
Some of the more adventurous ladies did some jogging and stand-up paddle boarding, but I was happy with hanging out and watching the Olympics! A couple other ladies came to visit, and we hope to do this again next year, maybe on a larger scale where we can have more ladies stay.
We arrived just in time for dinner at Hula Hut!

Squeezed into one car for a drive!
Time for some graffiti wall pics
Reminded me of my little Katie Grace who always says this to me. She was sick at home and their beach trip had to be postponed a day.
Austin fun!

Good salad for Friday dinner
Dessert and coffee by the lake at Mozart's
On Saturday some of the gals went paddleboarding, then we all went to lunch at Central Market.

Some ladies got gelato, but I was craving a snowcone!
Dinner on Saturday was at Shady Grove
On Sunday morning we cleaned up and got ready for mass. Some people had left early so just Sus and I took a shot on the front porch.

Brunch at Annie's. DELISH!

Yes, I sure hope our paths "croissant" again soon!
